Both girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves this Christmas. Elizabeth was more aware of everything going on and Sarah's joy and excitement was so exciting to witness on Christmas Eve. Elizabeth spent most of her time by the Christmas tree at whoever's house we happened to be at over the holidays. She enjoyed pulling off and redecorating Christmas trees wherever we traveled. Sarah loved opening presents and playing in all the wrapping paper piles! Here are a few pictures of our Christmas 2008 Memories:
Sarah's manager. I love how she put all the people and animals crowding around to see the Babe in the manager.
Papa and Grandmommie wore Mr. and Mrs. Claus aprons while they prepared our Christmas Eve Dinner.
My favorite Christmas card this year was painted by my brother, Jamie!
Sarah posing with her new "very cool" blue camera!
Grandmommie helping Sarah get ready on Christmas morning.
And, now Elizabeth's turn to get dressed and ready.
Looking at Great-Grandma Mae's Christmas tree... Elizabeth eyeing those ornaments. :)
Sarah playing in the Christmas wrapping paper! :)
Daddy hiding in the paper. Do you see his shirt?
Having fun peeking in presents with Grandma and Granddaddy!
Making a gingerbread house with Grandmommie.
We have so many fun Christmas memories from 2008! With all this said, my soul will not permit me to talk about all this Christmas stuff without acknowledging the reason for it all. The reason we give gifts and the reason are hearts are filled with joy, and the reason for Santa Claus... all of this is because of what took place over 2000 years ago. Our Lord and Savior was born bringing hope and peace to our lost world. Even people who don't believe in Christ celebrate CHRISTmas! Isn't that strange? In fact, the majority of the whole world stops on December 25th to acknowledge what took place so long ago. He wasn't born in a glorious throne. No, He was born in a lowly stable and placed in a feeding trough because there was no room for Him to be born and stay in the local inn. Isn't that interesting? Just like there wasn't any room for Him then, so many of us now don't make room for Him in our lives (with all our Christmas season affairs). Not much has changed! However, He remains the Prince of Peace and Lord of Lords! I'm so humbled by the fact that the Father chose for Him to be born in such a "low" place in society. Also, as you know the shepherds were the first ones to be told of his birth. The shepherd's held the lowest job status in the land. They were the lowest of the low and yet our Heavenly chose them to be the FIRST to hear of His son's birth. I love this! Our Lord is for everyone! Thank You Lord for bringing us hope and peace in Your Son! To God be the glory for great things He has done! Now, I know why they call this THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!
Blessings from our family to yours,
Happy New Year!
Until next time...
