As most of you know my brother Jamie and his wife Holly are in the process of hiking the Appalachian Trail. They have been hiking now since April 1st. I am happy to report that on Monday of this week Holly posted on her blog that they are in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and are half-way finished! I can't believe it!!! I'm so proud of them to say the least!!!
For those who don't know the Appalachian Trail starts in Georgia (Springer Mountain) and ends in Maine (Mt. Katahdin) and covers 2,175 miles. Can you imagine traveling that far on foot, not to mention the trail is almost continuously through wilderness?
Currently, they are hiking towards Maryland. To date, Holly reports having lost 13 pounds and Jamie only 6. So... it looks like they will need some fattening up when they get home! :)
I'm so happy for them and just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have remembered to pray for their safety and protection. Thank You Lord for taking such good care of them and guiding them along this remarkable journey. To You be the glory!
